Match Report: Ross County

So that’s FACC officially part of the NoSCA reserve league. Sadly our first game, away to Ross County, ended with a six wicket defeat. Despite Ash Anjum’s 32, and three others reaching double figures, no one was able to go on and post the bigger score that would have set a defendable target.

Nilesh and CJ went cheaply early on and even Ross seemed to find it tricky to score against Amour. Josh and captain Dave briefly threatened to repeat last week’s heroics but Boshry bowled three of our middle order. Apart from Ash, no one was able to dominate the bowling and we were all out for 106 in the 33rd over.

We seem to have seen a lot of Angus Robins batting this year already and he scored an assured looking 31 before miscount a catch. The ball often beat the bat with Josh looking better behind the wicket with each game. Two wickets from Nilesh gave us hope but some big blows from Bilal Akhbir and Steve Embleton saw Ross County home with ten overs to spare.

So, plenty to think about before the coming home fixture with Elgin.
